为了突出某个词、短语、或句子，就要用强调句型。翻译时常在被强调部分前加上“的确”、“务必”、“千万”、“就是”、“正是”等词来增强强调语气。

1.倒装

（1）强调宾语

示例

Such a moving movie I have never seen.

像这样令人感动的电影，我还从来没有看过。

Not a word did he say the whole evening because of anger.

由于气愤，整整一个晚上他一句话也没说。

（2）强调状语

示例

Never in all my life have I heared such nonsense.

我一生中真是从来没有听说过这样荒谬的话。

By no means can I believe what he said.

我绝不相信他说的话。

Scarcely had we gone into the room when the rain poured down.

我们刚一进屋就下起了大雨。

Only after a year did I begin to see the results of my study.

一年之后我就能看到我的学习成果了。

In front of me lay the whole valley like an untouched paradise on earth.

在我面前展现着整个山谷，就像是一个世外桃源。

（3）强调表语

示例

So terrible was the storm that whole roofs were ripped off.

这次暴风雨如此肆虐，整个屋顶都被掀掉了。

Sitting under the tree was a charming girl aged about fifteen or sixteen.

坐在树下的是一位年约十五六岁的可人女孩。

More serious was the problem of deforestation.

更为严重的是乱砍滥伐的问题。

（4）强调宾语补足语

示例

The Internet makes possible the communication between people all over the world.

互联网使世界各地人们之间的交流成为可能。

A shameful thing people call the whole matter.

人们把这件事成为可耻。

2.加助动词do、does、did

示例

The boy did complete his homework in time.

那个孩子的确准时完成了作业。

The old man does get up at 4:30 in the morning.

那位老人真的是每天早晨4:30起床。

We do have sufficient food and drink for this pinic.

为了这次野炊，我们确实准备了足够的食物和饮料。

3.加the devil、the hell、on earth、in/under heaven等

在what/where/who/why/how等疑问词后面加上以上词汇来加强语气

示例

Who the devil is the young girl？

那个女孩究竟是谁？

How on earth can one accomplish such a heavy work？

一个人怎么能够完成如此繁重的工作？

4.It is/was + 被强调部分 + that……

示例

It was he that sent the senior to the hospital.

把老人送去医院的正是他。

It is the movie that we saw together last Friday.

我们上周五一起看的就是这部电影。

It was there that we met.

就是在那儿我们见的面。

It is only when he is ill that he realizes the importance of health.

他只有生病了才知道健康的重要性。

It is because she is honest that everyone respects her.

正是因为她诚实、诚恳，所以大家都很尊敬她。

It was not until I saw him that he told me the truth.

直到我看见他，他才告诉我真相。

5.表示程度的形容词和副词

示例

He is the very man we are looking for.

他正是我们要找的人。

Who ever did so？

到底是谁做的？

I found my necklace right in the box.

就是在盒子里我找到了我的项链。
