The pie chart clearly demonstrates the public’s divergent attitudes towards the second-child policy newly issued by the People’s Congress of PRC. 62% of people are in favor, 27% hold 　a negative attitude, while 11% remain netural. 　　The supporters show a strong confidence in a traditional Chinese saying: more kids, more blessings. One more child would not only bring more happiness and laughter to the family, but would creative a more harmonious and favorable environment for his/her and the elder child’s healthy development. The opponents’ argument lies mainly in financial factors. One more mouth to feed means heavier pressure and longer working hours for the parents. As competition grows fiercer, the opportunity to get a higher pay is becoming harder and maybe dimmer. The neturals take a wait-and-see attitude in that they are uncertain about the potential risks associated with the second child to come. 　　To sum up, the second-child policy gains support of the majority. But for its further implementation, more favorable regulations on the part of the government are required.
